She's designed to be worn with the open bezel facing towards the wearer. The open bezel and windows surrounding the diamond signify an openness of heart and a willingness to expand their connection. 

The cutlet (point) of the diamond is held in place by a chunk of gold, the represents being held firmly in the pointy moments in relationships and life.
